So, now, I’m going to describe more about what are the things inside this Core Place for youth and trend in Tokyo and what make this place become oh-so-famous. Let’s get going..!
When I was in Tokyo for holiday I went to Shibuya about three times. Why you ask? Because Shibuya is big and there are plenty of things for you to discover. So, you won’t ever run out of destination in here since there are lots of stores for you to explore and cafes for you to hang out with you friends. Anyway, to go to Shibuya is really easy, I recommend you to take trains since it’s not expensive and you can save times since you won’t have a traffic jam. To get to Shibuya simply just choose the Shibuya Station as your destination. Shibuya station is one of the most busiest station in Tokyo since there are lots of lines that go through there, one of them is JR Yamanote Line. Because of that, I recommend you to take Metro (subway) since the choices are not as many as the trains above ground, the Metro trains that go to Shibuya are Ginza Subway Line and Hanzomon Subway Line. Once you arrive at Shibuya Station, just get out of it and you will find yourself in the middle of the most crowded crossing in the world. Yeah, in front of Shibuya Station is the famous Shibuya Crossing.
Once you step out of the Shibuya Station, you can find the well-known Hachiko statue just some steps away from you. Hachiko statue is a famous dog statue that was made to honor Hachiko, a faithful dog who was waiting for his master for years in front of the Shibuya Station even though his master has passed away. Today, Hachiko Statue is used as the most popular meeting places for the people in Tokyo, it’s because it is really easy to find and maybe because of Hachiko’s faithfulness so the people you make your appointment with will be as faithful as Hachiko and really come to meet you ( in the name of Hachiko you have to come!!!)…
On the other side of Hachiko statue it is the Shibuya Crossing. Shibuya Crossing is the most famous and the most crowded crossing in the world. It is because of the astonishing number of people who come across it in every green light can reach hundreds. Just try to cross it with the other busy Tokyo people and feel yourself become part of it, you’re in the core of Tokyo man!
From the crowded Shibuya Crossing, if you go straight just like the direction on the picture above you will find yourself before the Center Gai, which is the birthplace of many Japanese fashion trends. Center Gai is a busy pedestrian area in Shibuya lined by lots of stores, boutiques, restaurants, game centers. In the night, the area is still crowded with lots of youngsters going to night clubs, restaurants, and, bars or just hanging around there.Oh yeah, one more thing, you can also enjoy the view of Shibuya Crossing from the Starbucks coffee located inside the Q-FRONT building, which is the big building located on the right side on the picture below.
Not far from the Shibuya Crossing, you can also find one of the most renowned mall in there, which is Shibuya 109.
Shibuya 109 (maru-kyu) is one of the places that we often find in manga, anime, or movie, and it’s one of the trademark of our trendy Shibuya. The mall consists 10 floors, from B2F to 8th floors, so there are many stores to come by, and one more thing that makes this mall special is that the stores in there are really generous when the discount time come, it can reach up to 70% in every stores. Unfortunately, for you the guys who’re hungry for doing some shopping, Shibuya 109 is not a place for you since this mall is packed with lots of stores for girls. But worry not, since there’s a Shibuya 109 Men located not far from the 109, you guys can access it via underground tunnel that connect both of the malls. Some of the famous stores inside the 109 are Samantha Vega, Liz Lisa, Cecil Mc Bee, and Dazzlin. Just be careful not to waste all of your money here, since every stores really offer you quite a bargain prize.
